Early '90s independent gem with a tough and touching knock out performance from Lili Taylor. And River Phoenix is no slouch either. At times funny, cruel, and emotional, the film is a great unconventional two-hander with strong complex characters. A gut-punch tender ending avoids sentimentality. Our first watch and a classic in our minds. Eager to see Mrs. Savoca's other films. Bought at Videomatica.
